COATED ASCORBIC ACID, TYPE FC

COATED ASCORBIC ACID, TYPE FC is a white to slightly yellow powder consisting of ascorbic acid coated with glyceryl tristearate. It has a slight odour characteristic of fatty acids. COATED ASCORBIC ACID, TYPE FC meets all requirements of the current version of the USP, FCC and Ph. Eur. when tested according to these compendia. It is fairly stable to air but is somewhat sensitive to heat. COATED ASCORBIC ACID, TYPE FC can be stored for 18 months from the date of manufacture in the unopened original container and at a temperature below 25 °C. COATED ASCORBIC ACID, TYPE FC is used in the food industry for its antioxidant properties. The hydrophobic coating ensures greater stability against humidity and aggressive ingredients which may be present in food formulations.
