COATED ASCORBIC ACID, TYPE EC is a white to slightly yellow powder consisting of ascorbic acid coated with ethyl cellulose. It provides stability to active pharmaceutical ingredients and prevents degradation. The coating retards any detrimental influence of other excipients present in formulations. COATED ASCORBIC ACID, TYPE EC is fairly stable to air if protected from humidity, but is somewhat sensitive to heat. It can be stored for up to 18 months if kept below 25°C in original packaging.
